live painting FAQ’s
Every client will have a personalized plan made based on the details of their day. Generally,you can expect an investment to paint live at your wedding to begin at 2,500. Bernadette will paint for 5-6 hours the day of the event, but finish the painting in her studio. She will arrive 2 hours early to begin and paint while the guests are enjoying the day so they are able to watch the progress. Interactions and conversation with the guests. The quoted price will include all supplies, framing and shipping of the final piece, as well as travel within 2 hours of Frederick, Maryland.
Additional travel costs will be included if an overnight accommodation is necessary.
how do I get started?
Before you book Bernadette, a no-obligation meeting will be scheduled so you can decide if she is the right artist for you! At this meeting, you will get a chance to view Bernadette’s work. Because this is an investment piece of art to be cherished for years to come, you should be sure your aesthetic matches that of the painter you hire. While Bernadette specializes in venue and tablescape paintings, she is open to any of your ideas.

what if my event already passed?
It’s not too late to have a bespoke painted created for you, even if the event is over.
Bernadette can work from any clearly lit photograph.
what will I get?
The nature of oil painting requires proper drying, layering of details and a varnish protective coating, so you can expect Bernadette to put an additional your painting will be ready for pick up or shipping 6-8 weeks after your special day. Your painting will be completed on a wooden panel, ready to be dropped into a frame. It is also possible for Bernadette to frame the painting for you.

what to expect
Bernadette will arrive at the venue early to set up before the everyone arrive.
The guest portraits are typically painted during the cocktail hour and reception, but best timing will be arranged for each particular event.
Bernadette will come with all supplies and only require a small table and power outlet nearby.
Each painting will be done on hot press paper, using high quality artist
watercolor & sent home ready to frame.
Bernadette will take a photo of the guests and paint them throughout the night. Bernadette can create roughly 18 portraits per hour in a loose, impressionistic style.

Bernadette can paint an original painting for the couple, that has special meaning to them or one that emulates the theme of their special day. Prints of the painting can be made to hand out as guest favors as well as the original framed and kept by the couple.
